It’s not what you say that counts…

September 16, 2009 - 9:01 pm No Comments

I’ve been thinking about statements lately. It seems like we all like to make some distinct impression on the people we meet, be it a new friend or a stranger on the street. We make verbal statements to identify our cultural background, marital status, or age bracket. We also make visual statements based on how we hold ourselves, our clothing, our manner of walking and gesturing.

Studies show that 60% of the information we receive from others is based on nonverbals and body language.  On top of that only 10% of any communication is processed through the words you say. Based on that information, verbal statements don’t mean that much.

So let’s focus on visual statements. A good portion of visual statements are going to be based on your personality and how you approach the world. If you stand tall (whether you’re 5 foot or 6′1″), if you gesture emphatically or sit on your hands, whether you fidget or sit still. All these things say something about you. But that’s only part of the visual. There’s also what you wear. A Chanel suit says something very different about your tastes than a rocker skirt from Hot Topic.

I’ve been thinking about what statement I want to make with what I wear. I like length in clothing, and I always find it striking when I see someone wearing an item of clothing that is longer or more voluminous than average. Tube top floor length dresses, thigh high boots, knee length scarves: anything that draws the eye to take in the full lenght of the body wearing it is impressive in some way.

Such accessories and style choices are not always sensible, of course. Floor length dresses are easy to trip on and we all know how Isadora Duncan met her fate wearing one of those long flowy scarves.  (And if you don’t know, click here.)

Overwhelming statements can be wonderful, but sometimes it’s good to go halfway. If the thigh high boot seems a bit much, how about the UGG Raya? The heel immediately grabs attention, and the silhouette of the boot draws the eyes upward to acknowledge the rest of the leg. There is also the new UGG Highkoo, in it’s unassuming low heel and slouch, it’s just high up enough the calf to grab some attention.

There are all sorts of ways to make a statement. Take a look at cuteoutlet.com and find yours!

September 16, 2009 - 9:00 pm No Comments

Timberland work boots are known all over the world for their premier quality and distinct style. Timberland has always been the originator of the rugged outdoor style in footwear. While maintaining their trademark, Timberland has continued to change their styles and their footwear technology to provide only the best.

It is partly because the boots are so well made, so durable and so comfortable, but also because have the reputation of being the best and toughest work boots you can get, and that is a big reason for their success and popularity. The Timberland Pro series work boot is particularly sought after here. As with many modern clothing or footwear products which become fashionable, they also have the reputation of being ‘expensive’ (though this is not really true), and so wearing them becomes a statement about affluence or success.

Looking at the comments about Timberland boots online, it is clear there are two sets of people who buy these boots - people who work outdoors and need reliable, comfortable watertight boots, often with toe protection like a steel toe; and those who want them because they are fashionable, and worry about such things as the right socks to wear, whether to roll up their pants when wearing them, and what color or style of jeans to wear with them. The company has obliged both its sets of customers by extending the range of boot styles and by making a range of similar boots for women as well as men.

Buying Timberland work boots online has now become one of the preferred ways of purchasing them, both because the prices can be lower than in normal shoe stores in your local mall, and because you get to select from the latest styles. In addition, the top online shoe stores often have a better range of sizes and widths on offer than many brick-and-mortar stores.

Love of Timberland Boots

September 15, 2009 - 10:01 pm No Comments

Timberland is a sort of American sport brand. In the beginning of its history, it is famous for a pair of Yellow boots and well-known for its waterproof and rustproof and wearable.

“The Timberland Classic Short is Timberland America’s most popular women’s sheepskin boot! The Classic Short boot features lavish twin-faced sheepskin for the utmost comfort. Precision craftsmanship is evident in the Classic Short’s reinforced heel, raw seams and signature Timberland heel label. Slip into the Classic Short boot and feel Timberland America luxury.”

Nowadays there are numerous styles of Timberland boots available. Of course the traditional distinctive boot with the top that can be folded either up or down is still hugely popular in a variety of colors. One of the most popular colors of the moment is Raisin, a rich red color offering a new twist to a popular style. Timberland America now also manufactures a vast range of completely different styles.

There are some very masculine styles available, a range of classic boots in kid’s sizes, and Timberlands for babies which are especially sweet. Most of the current Timberlands retain some of the original flavor as they include sheepskin in one way or another. Sheepskin boots are great for all year round usage, as fleecy fibred inside the boot keep feet warm, while still encouraging air circulation. The only time when it is perhaps inadvisable to wear Timberland boots is during rainy weather. However a gentle wash (not in the washing machine) with cool water should ensure any problems with mud are easily solved. When choosing which boots to buy, it is important to look at a variety of retailers, as prices can vary wildly.

Commonly referred to as “comfortable boots”, they are not that pretty but you can say that you’ll love them once you wear them! Timberlands are perfect in both warm and cold climates, made of 100% sheepskin that will keep your feet dry and comfortable. Timberlands are available in your nearest stores and online shopping websites. Originally trademarked in America but sold to an American company making it recognized all over the world. These boots were being made now in America, New Zealand and in some other parts of Asia. Timberland boots are still popular nowadays even celebrities love wearing it and making it as a fashion statement.

Most of my friends love this brand boots very much, we often get together to chat about the latest news Timberland boots. Usually we go to the www.timberland.com online store to have a look. Every time, we can get an unusual experience.

Timberland Boots - The Modish Boot Brand

September 15, 2009 - 10:01 pm No Comments

When women want boots that are comfortable, sturdy and long-lasting, they think of one name. Timberland has been around for over 35 years, and the name stands for quality, utility and comfort; all things that founder Nathan Swartz dreamed about from the beginning. Although, Timberland boots began as a casual shoe manufacturer primarily for men, it has changed over the years, morphing to keep pace with the needs of a growing customer base, which needed to encompass women.

Unlike traditional leather boots that most in the industry make, Timberland makes boots in suede material for people who like extra-strong and durable boots that can withstand any condition. If you’re into leather boots, Timberland has those as well. Timberlands leather boots are made from the strongest leather and provide excellent durability. They are also soft and hard in all the right spots to ensure maximum comfort for the wearer.

If you’re a hiker, climber, or adventurer, then Timberland is just the boot company for you. If you ever feared that your boot couldn’t keep up with you, your problems will end with Timberland boots. Even Steve Erwin, the late crocodile hunter, always wore a pair of trusty timberland shoes on his hunts and safaris. If these boots can serve him well while hiking the treacherous Amazon, journeying the Australian outback, walking through the African savannah, and even help in the task of wrestling crocodiles, think of what these boots could do for you!

If you’re more of a formal person, Timberland can also suit you. Their boots are of the highest quality and will make a good appearance at any dinner or business meeting. Timberland formal wear is made to impress.

These are so many advantages in Timberland boots, why not have a try?

About Timberland Boots

September 15, 2009 - 10:00 pm No Comments

Timberland boots are an example of that odd phenomenon of utilitarian shoes being embraced by hip fashion gurus. The same happened with Doc Martens when they were first introduced to the market. While Doc Martens started out as boots for the common British workingman and quickly moved to the punk scene, Timberland boots have made a similar transition from hiking shoes to the footwear of choice for hip-hop pioneers.

History

Timberland began when Nathan Swartz bought out Abington Shoes in 1952. Although he knew nothing about the shoe trade at the time, he had a knack for business and a vision for the industry. Swartz learned the trade quickly and then analyzed the market to see where his new business would fit in. Paying attention to the market and customer needs, he quickly grew the small company into a contender.

Time Frame

By 1965, Timberland sealed its place in history with the introduction of injection molding. The process revolutionized the footwear industry and the Timberland brand name was born. It took another eight years for the company to move from leather shoes into boots. By 1985, however, Timberland boots were both well known and highly respected. That led other countries to clamor for international export. In 1990, the company expanded to include styles specifically with women in mind. In 1996, the focus adjusted again to make boots for children, including young girls. In 2005, Timberland bought out Smart Wool Corporation in order to incorporate their temperature regulating capabilities into their boot and apparel products. The following year, Timberland acquired Howies and created an active sports footwear division. In 2007, it also encompassed I Path, a sports company focused specifically in the skateboarding arena.

Types

Timberland makes boots for men, women and children. Their product line includes casual, everyday footwear, active sports and specialized sports footwear, like hiking boots, as well as professional grade boots. Products come in a variety of materials, colors and styles ranging from below the ankle shoes to mid and tall, mid-calf boots. Product names include: Howies — shoes and gear built with the environment in mind; I Path — footwear and apparel for the skateboarding industry; the standard Timberland boot — built for outdoor use; and Timberland Pro — a boot for the working man or woman. Many Timberland boots can be customized, allowing consumers to choose materials, colors and specialty stitching and embroidery, including monograms. Many boots are made to be waterproof, stain resistant and extra long wearing. Boot prices for women typically begin around $39.99 and go up from there, generally remaining just under $200.

Significance

Timberland not only produces products that women love, they do it with certain concerns in mind. The company strives to make premium boots that are durable, practical, stylish, and affordable. But that is not their only concern. They also take into consideration the communities in which their products are made. The company actively participates in community programs, infusing capital and volunteer resources. The business is equally concerned about the safety of the planet. They continue to adjust how and with what materials boots are made. They are equally committed to making an outstanding product, as well as one that is environmental friendly.

Geography

The home office for Timberland is located at 200 Domain Drive in Stratham, New Hampshire 03885. Timberland retail and factory stores are located throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. International sites are located in France, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

I do not know whether you have got some information what you would like to know about timberland boots, anyway, they provide you with a space far from moisture and coldness indeed. Some of people think they are a little luxurious to wear. However, there is no other thing more attractive than enjoying beautiful winter!

Timberland Boots Gives Men an Eco Option

September 14, 2009 - 9:46 pm No Comments

It wouldn’t be fall back-to-school fashion season without Gap jeans staring you down on all of your shopping trips. This year, Gap redid their entire line and introduced their 1969 Premium Jeans. While the jeans aren’t made from organic cotton or in anyway green, you can catch an eco accessory in the store windows–Timberland boots.

Timberland Earthkeepers 6″ Leather Boots are the eco-friendly footwear of choice for jean-clad Gap mannequins nationwide. For guys who rock the casual jean look, Earthkeepers finish it off well. The rugged mens boots feature organic cotton laces, solvent-free adhesives, recycled rubber outsoles and recycled EVA inside along with recycled PET lining. While the leather boots are, well, made of leather, they’re not vegan or animal-friendly, but they are organically tanned.

Plus, company-wide, Timberland is an eco-conscious company. They recently opened a green store in New York City. Packaging is now made from 100% post-consumer recycled content cardboard and inks are all soy-based. So for green guys, Timberland’s boots are a nice eco-friendly option to help keep that carbon footprint low from street to trail.
